Nothing says "I love you" like a wet, slobbery kiss—just ask Tom Hardy!

In a new pro-adoption campaign for PETA, the Mad Max: Fury Road star gets a full face-licking fro his beloved dog Woodstock. As you can see from this photo, obtained exclusively by E! News, these two guys are the best of buddies. Woodstock, or "Woody" as he's affectionately nicknamed, is clearly lovin' life, and he's forever grateful to Tom for providing him with a forever home.

The adorable duo first crossed paths back in 2011, when Tom was filming Lawless in Atlanta and spotted the homeless pup running loose on the highway. The British hunk sprang into action, caught the canine, gave him a name and brought him home to London.

Woody wasn't just a hit with Tom, though—the actor's Lawless co-star Jessica Chastain was quite taken with him, too! In fact, according to PETA, the Oscar nominee and her mother helped take care of Woody until he was cleared to move to the U.K. with Tom.

Tom, who also has another dog he rescued from the set of The Drop in Brooklyn, hopes others will follow his lead and adopt—not shop—for their next pet.

The Inception star is always on the lookout for pups in need! As he told Vulture last year "I'm the finder of dogs, you know what I mean? My missus [Charlotte Riley], she's like, 'You're not allowed to bring another dog back from a job.' But I'll always find one. On every job we go on, I'll either find someone's dog and look after it, or I'll take my own dog, or I find a dog and we home it. I do find dogs."

"We have two now at home," he said. "Can't have any more for the moment. And actually, they're a handful, two. But I love dogs. Like, A LOT. They're my favorite animal. Ever."
