The battle of the morning shows just took a turn.
Michael Strahan of Live! With Kelly and Michael is going up against Today's Hoda Kotb in Lip Sync Battle! Fortunately for our eyes, we snagged a preview of one of Strahan's performances. If you had any doubts about his abilities as a lip syncer, you can put them to rest because he absolutely slays Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison."
Dressed in black jeans, a black T-shirt and a multi-colored jacket that came straight out of the '90s, Strahan mouths the lyrics perfectly. He even takes his performance to the next level by surprising the audience with some very special guests. But between his outfit and boy band choreography, we have to say hats off to the Daytime Emmy winner (quite literally, because he's wearing a hat.).
After watching Terry Crew's performance of "A Thousand Miles" and John Krasinski's "Bye Bye Bye," we honestly didn't think the celeb performances could get any better. But Strahan pulled out all of the stops and proved that anything is possible on the Spike TV show. Little did we know that a football player-turned-TV star could also be a major hit in the music industry.
Even better than the performances was the news that the massive hit TV show has been renewed for a second season! Lip Sync Battle will return for 20 new episodes in 2016. Hosts LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen are slated to return.
