Filming began today on X-Men: Apocalypse, and we're already getting a look at Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler!

Director Bryan Singer posted the first shot of the upcoming character, as well as short a video clip, but promptly deleted both traces of what viewers can expect to see on the upcoming, highly anticipated film.

"Catch him before he's gone," Singer wrote on Twitter. Smit-McPhee also posted—and deleted—the pic of himself in full Nightcrawler form.

Singer also posted a pic of himself from a set of a movie theater and wrote, "First day of shooting #XMEN #XMenApocalypse at the mall. Around #1983."

The theater's banner reads, "Now playing Return of the Jedi" in the background. Sounds about right!

The 18-year-old Aussie will star in the prequel-sequel, along with previous X-Men stars Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne.

J.Law told MTV this film would be her "last one" in the superhero franchise.

Meanwhile, Hoult told E! News X-Men: Apocalypse was the last film he was contractually obligated to do, but he seemed open to the possibility of playing Beast again beyond that.

Olivia Munn is also joining the flick as Betsy Braddock, as well as Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner.

Just last month, Singer revealed that 24-year-old British actor Ben Hardy will be tackling the role of Angel in addition to Alexandra Shipp and Tye Sheridan, who were announced as Storm and Cyclops

And while fans have been getting bits and bobs here and there of what's in store, they'll have to wait until May 27, 2016 to see the real deal on the big screen.
