Justin Bieber didn't have the typical high school experience, but over the weekend, the 21-year-old singer finally got to experience a major teenage milestone: Prom!

L.A.'s Chatsworth Charter High School allowed the Biebs to crash their senior dance, and based on the pictures and videos their students tweeted, everyone was beyond excited by the surprise guest!

Justin had a blast, too. "[I] always wanted to go to prom," he tweeted after the dance. "Thanks for having me. #promcrasher :)"

Sources tell E! News Justin and a few members of his entourage arrived around 11:30 p.m. to the event, which was held at Jim Henson studios. Hailey Baldwin and a pal arrived earlier in the evening as well.Justin was far from fixated on his female pal though--as a source tells E! News, he was dancing with everybody! "He was super sweet," says one insider, "and calm even when he was attacked [aka mobbed on the dance floor]!"

"He was a good dancer," adds an insider, noting that the Biebs made Chatsworth High's "moment in time"  prom theme all that more special!

Well, we're glad the Canadian crooner finally got to go through this typically-American rite of passage. His high school experience was far from traditional, but there were some pretty fun pop star perks. Case in point? Graduation!

When he received his diploma back in 2012, he wasn't just one of many walking across a stage in a cap and gown. Instead, he had his very own graduation ceremony on The Ellen DeGeneres Show!

The daytime TV host even presented Justin with a special graduation cap suspended about a foot over his head. "Because I know how important your hair is," Ellen joked. "This won't mess up your hair!"

Justin was the only student at this nontraditional TV graduation, but mama Pattie Mallette, manager Scooter Braun and his then road manager Kenny Hamilton were all in the audience to, as Ellen put it, "honor the accomplishments of the Biebs."

Of course, like most kids on the threshold of adulthood, Justin made some mistakes—something he's readily admitted to. As he told the April Issue of Men's Health, "I had to grow up so quick. And it was almost like I grew up for the public but I didn't necessarily grow up. There were things I had to do, as far as the way I had to make relationships, and conversation, but as far as actually growing up, there were a lot of things I missed out on."

He's making up for it now!
