Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives of Atlanta  is serious about having a baby with her hubby, Todd Tucker.

"We have started the process of in-vitro," Kandi tells E! News exclusively. "So just pray for us that everything is great and we get a healthy baby! My family definitely, they definitely want a baby for me and Todd."

With the reunion special about to air this Sunday, it's clear Kandi has been under some stress (the drama with Phaedra was unexpected, and a "flat-out lie," she tells us) and now, the singer and actress is trying to take it easy. But it isn't…easy.

"I have a little time off away from the cameras, but I'm never really off," the 38-year-old tells us. "So much to do, nonstop, and we're trying to make a baby right now. I'm off from the cameras, but not off."

The overwhelming feelings that can come with living life under a microscope also has Kandi feeling tons of empathy for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards, who has had struggles with alcohol addiction, and was arrested last week on allegations of trespassing, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

"It's extremely hard to go through something serious in front of the public eye," Kandi explains. "I myself have had to deal with two deaths in front of the public eye. And when you're dealing with something that's so crazy and then you have all these people's opinions, and a lot of people that will come at you and just say the craziest negative stuff, it's just like, I don't need that. It's just hard to do."

Kandi isn't passing any judgment on Kim. "I feel for her and anybody, especially our other counterparts on all the different shows on Bravo, because people feel so connected to our personal lives that they feel like they can say whatever they want to say to us. They feel like they know everything just because they watch that little piece of the show that you were on. But you don't know the whole story! You don't know everything about me. You don't know why I am this way or why I react this way so please, sometimes, just keep your negative thoughts to yourself."
