John Travolta's son Benjamin made his debut appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman, and it's safe to say he may be a teensy bit camera shy.

The actor, who is currently promoting his upcoming flick The Forger, told the late-night show host that his youngest now knows how famous his father is and even told him he wants to work onscreen with him one day.

"He loves trucks. For the first time in my life, I bought a red Dodge Ram pick-up truck, a big one, and he loves it—Ella loves it. I take him for rides," the proud papa dished.

"I took him to Toys 'R Us recently, and he said to me when we got out of the truck and in the cart, 'Why are all these people wanting my photograph?' Because I didn't know if he knew I was in films or not. He said, 'Well, maybe they saw one of your movies!' And he said, 'I want to work with you!' So we'll see how that evolves. I don't want to force [it]."

So, in an effort to dip his toe into the acting pool, Travolta asked David Letterman if he could bring little Ben on from backstage.

Kelly Preston was then shown carrying her son to the front, and just as he was about to step in front of the bright lights, he got nervous and darted off! Totally understandable.

Travolta and Letterman did their best to ease the 4-year-old back onto the stage, but he wasn't having it, and instead chose to run into his mom's arms.
