Sarah Hyland just can't hide that smile on her face.

Between her role in Modern Family and a new movie called See You in Valhalla coming out Friday, the actress has a lot to be grateful for.

But between all of her success in her professional life, it's also boyfriend Dominic Sherwood that has made the past few months pretty special.

"He's amazing. He's an amazing person," she revealed to E! News after learning about his new role on ABC Family's Shadowhunters. "We became such good friends on Vampire Academy. I'm so happy for him. It's an amazing thing."

The twosome, who first started dating in November, has also been spotted out on dates at Disneyland and Los Angeles Lakers games

Personal life aside, Hyland is ready to put her producing skills to the test for her latest big-screen project. After writer Brent Tarnol introduced her to an "amazing script," Hyland knew this was the job for her.

"We produced it together and it's something really close to my heart," she shared. "I'm really proud of it."

So if she can act and produce, the next logical step is to direct, right? Not so fast. When asked if she'd like to organize an episode of Modern Family, Hyland said that idea may be a little too much too soon.

"Oh no, too much of a beast," she admitted. "I don't think I could be a director. There's a lot that goes into it. I loved producing."

Besides, there's a very important wedding in the works that she hopes to attend. Of course we're talking about Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello's big day.

If you're expecting scoop about the nuptials from Hyland, however, you're going to be disappointed.

"Boy I don't know anything," Hyland admitted. "She has a huge family to deal with that. Her fake family doesn't need to."
