Do you hear that? That's the sound of a billion tears being shed all over the world as an era of The Vampire Diaries comes to an end.
If you listen really carefully, you might be able to hear a little bit of laughter in there, too, as fans tune into the goodbye video that Nina Dobrev posted with Michael Trevino on Instagram this afternoon.
After wrapping their final scene, the two stars took a moment to bid farewell to the fans, shed a few tears, and share a big hug, which sounds totally normal and totally like a thing that would bring on the feels.
Fortunately, we're momentarily saved from our deep, complicated, and ongoing thoughts and feelings over Dobrev and Trevino's departure by…chipmunk voices.
"We were just kids when we started the show," Dobrev's caption appropriately reads. "And we still are, 6 years later."
And here we are, crying and laughing at the same time.
