Even though Jill Duggar's birth didn't go "as expected," she's confident her next delivery will go more according to plan.

During her 70-hour delivery last week, the 19 Kids and Counting star was advised to have a C-section even though she wanted a natural birth. "She had labored for so long. There's no shame in that, there's no shame in not progressing, there's no shame in getting a C-section," her husband Derick Dillard tells People.

"It was confirmation for us that God was leading us," Jill, 23, added. "We were grateful for God showing us what to do in time."

Jill says she's confident she will have a natural birth with her next child. "We told the doctor, ‘Stitch me up really well,'" she said. "The doctor told me he has no doubt I'll be able to have a vaginal delivery the next time."

As for how Jill stayed strong during the multi-day birth of son Israel David, she told the mag, "I was praying to God to give me strength. I was really scared and nervous, but I was praying."

Jill, Derick and Israel are now home safe and sound. "I love our birth story because it bonded us so well," says Jill. "I still haven't changed a single diaper. Derick has been changing them all."

Jill added that Derick is "doing amazing at being a dad."
