Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans assemble!

Marvel and ABC are teaming up once again, with a third series in the works at the network, according to Entertainment Weekly. While there are no details about the potential spinoff's plot or even a timeline for its premiere, the project is being developed by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s  executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski. Plus, there won't be a backdoor pilot this season (a la Criminal Minds' recent Beyond Borders trial), some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s upcoming storylines could possibly bleed into the new series.

Marvel had no comment on the spinoff rumors.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is currently averaging 7.4 million viewers, has yet to be renewed for a third season by ABC, but the network almost always waits until May to announce all of their renewals, with How to Get Away With Murder's recent second season pick-up being the rare exception.

Agent Carter, Marvel's second ABC series starring Hayley Atwell as her Captain America character Peggy Carter, has yet to be renewed for a second season, but has established a seriously loyal fanbase, with the show winning our annual Save One Show campaign!

A potential third series on ABC isn't Marvel's only new TV project, as its epic five-series superhero pack is about to kick off with the premiere of Daredevil on April 10, with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist to follow, leading up to a team-up miniseries featuring all four heroes.
