A day after the child was born, Kate's parents, Carole Middleton and Michael Middleton, and sister, Pippa Middleton, popped in for a visit at Kensington Palace to see her. Prince Charles, her new grandfather, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also stopped by.

Clarence House announced that Kate was expecting in September, issuing a statement to the public in addition to revealing that the Duchess was suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a rare pregnancy complication often categorized by extreme sickness. "Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."

The statement added of Kate, who suffered from the same complications during her first pregnancy with Prince George, "The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."

Following the birth of George in July 2013, ABC's royals contributor Victoria Arbiter spoke to E! News about the significance of the royal baby's moniker.

"You have to remember they are naming the future king or queen. So you won't want to see something silly, like Queen Suri, which would be fine if you are playing dress up but it is not quite appropriate for when you are the queen of 16 nations," she said.

"They are going to be very careful when naming their child," she added. "So we will see something traditional...Will and Kate by nature, are just very traditional."

George is named after Queen Elizabeth's father while William was named after Prince William of Gloucester, his dad Prince Charles' seven-years older cousin and personal friend who passed away in 1972.

William, 32, and Kate, 33, welcomed their first child on July 22, 2013. The couple wed in April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London, England.
