The Good Wife's Sunday, April 5th episode, "Loser Edit," is shocking in more ways than one. The episode is so topical right now with Indiana's religious freedom law it's almost as if Robert and Michelle King, The Good Wife's co-creators, knew this was going to happen. We won't spoil you—too much—but here's what you need to know about this potentially game-changing The Good Wife:

Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) defends gay marriage and she does so flawlessly. It's Diane, would she do it any other way? Memo to Indiana's Governor Mike Pence: WATCH THIS EPISODE. Diane is happily married to Kurt (Gary Cole), but you'll see there's something about RD (Oliver Platt) that sort of excites her. "Diane is having to find out where are the limits of her idealism, and when they run up against money what does that mean," Robert King told us in February. "And also, just as she does with Gary Cole, she finds there's a side of her that seems to want to indulge, someone who likes guns, someone who has a possibly more dangerous, frontier-like side. So obviously it's always fun with Christine Baranski to play it up because she's probably the most elegant human being on Earth and to see her kind of fighting this part of her that's drawn to guns and even to people who spout views that have nothing to do with the views she agrees with is interesting to us."
