Paul Drinkwater/NBC"Alrights" are going for $45,000 a pop nowadays!
Matthew McConaughey has been offered $135,000, plus travel expenses, to give the University of Houston Commencement Ceremony speech this May. Booking agent Celebrity Talent International will collect a 15 percent commission of $20,250 for helping to facilitate the speaking engagement, according to the school.
That would of course be a pretty penny for the Oscar winner, who offered up one deep thought after another during his victorious 2014 awards season. But the school explains that all of that dough—should McConaughey be available—will go right to the Interstellar star's Just Keep Livin Foundation, which helps high school students obtain the tools they need to make healthy, positive life choices.
As of today, McConaughey had not yet officially accepted the invitation to speak.
The native Texan was born in Uvalde, attended high school in Longview and graduated from the University of Texas, Austin. He lives primarily in Austin with wife Camila Alves and their three children.
University of Houston clarified that it released the financial details only after it had concluded its business with CTI and was no longer bound by any confidentiality agreement.
