New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Bans All Non-Essential Travel to Indiana as Arkansas Passes Its Own RFRA Bill

Law passed late last week much to the dismay of many, including some some celebs

Amid an onslaught of criticism stemming from Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Arkansas' legislation has just passed a similar bill.

Lawmakers gave final approval on the religious-freedom bill and will now head to Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, who has previously said that he would sign the bill into law.

Meanwhile, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that he is banning all "non-essential state travel to Indiana."

"Today, I direct all agencies, departments, boards and commissions to immediately review all requests for state funded or state sponsored travel to the State of Indiana and to bar any such publicly funded travel that is not essential to the enforcement of state law or public health and safety. The ban on publicly funded travel shall take effect immediately," his statement read.

"New York State has been, and will continue to be, a leader in ensuring that all LGBT persons enjoy full and equal civil rights. With this action, we stand by our LGBT family members, friends and colleagues to ensure that their rights are respected."
