Ryan Phillippe's Daughter Ava Phillippe Gets "Freaked Out" When People Assume He's Her Brother

He is 40-years-old but many people think he looks younger than 21

It's time for Ryan Phillippe to start dishing the secrets to his youthful glow.

The Secrets and Lies actor, who turned 40 in September, revealed to Variety that his dashing, young looks have gotten him into a little bit of trouble...with his daughter Ava Phillippe! Although we doubt he minds people confusing him for someone who is younger than 21 LOL.

"It's crazy. And still, I get carded constantly," he said. "My daughter hates it, because sometimes people have thought I'm her brother, and she's freaked out by that."

He shares Ava and son Deacon Phillippe with his Oscar-winning ex-wife Reese Witherspoon. Even though some people tell him he could be his 15-year-old daughter's brother, there is one thing that still makes him feel like an old man...the fact that there will be an I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot!

On the idea of a remake in production, he said, "Oh, come on! No. I think it's a good idea. I'm excited about it."

"It just makes me feel old," he added.

Even though his career has included a couple of "seminal teen movies," he said some of his work in his early twenties definitely launched him into early adulthood.

"That was sort of the end of my innocence. I made Cruel Intentions when I was 23, and I did I Know What You Did Last Summer when I was 21 or 22, so that was like the end of my youth, because I went straight into marriage and kids," he explained to the trade publication. He has also said that he thinks getting married so young contributed to the failure of his eight-year marriage to Witherspoon.

"I think more of the problem was age, you know, when we got together so young. I think it can create issues—two people in this industry—because there's so much noise that goes around with it," he dished on Larry King Now.

But he doesn't let his early star power get in the way of living a normal life.

"I still don't have that feeling of 'I've made it,'" he said. "I like staying humble. Both of those movies, I guess they're seminal teen movies, and that's a cool thing. It's cool to have something in your career that people love over generations."
