Alert the millennials! Alert the millennials! Youths everywhere will have to make do without their favorite toy at this year's music festivals.

That's right, selfie sticks have officially been banned from concert fun. Coachella was the first to nix the accessory, announcing that no poles or extenders would be allowed. You can still bring your GoPro to record hours of footage that you'll never get around to editing, but there's basically no point, since all you'll be able to see is the back of people's heads.

Lollapalooza also decided to jump on the anti-selfie stick bandwagon, limiting tripods, stands, sticks, and other equipment to professional photographers only. Which, let's be honest, are the only people who should own selfie sticks in the first place.

Music festivals aren't the only selfie haters around, though—institutions like the Palace of Versailles, the Smithsonian and the Museum of Modern Art all have bans in place. Presumably they're outlawed for safety reasons, but we're pretty sure that music festivals are just annoyed with teens blocking everybody's view. After all, there's nothing worse than having to watch a concert through the GoPro lens of the bro in front of you.

There's no word yet on how the youths are handling this presumably devastating news or how they'll be taking their group selfies from now on, but we imagine it will have something to do with just using their arms instead.
