Country music performer Tim McGraw has apologized to his fans for his new album, a collection (his third) of greatest hits. Apparently McGraw would have preferred the release of newly recorded material, but has no power over his record label.

“I had no involvement in the creation or presentation of this record,” a sad, helpless McGraw stated. "The whole concept is an embarrassment to me as an artist. In the spirit of an election year, I would simply say to my fans 'I'm Tim McGraw, and I don't approve their message.' ”

Despite the mea culpa for the offensive album, McGraw apparently has no plans to apologize for keeping any profits from the record, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Music Charts, making the living hell the singer is going through that much worse.
