It's not always happy face bralets and plastic leaf skirts for Katy Perry.
Despite the fun, crazy costuming seen in concert, the "Roar" singer showed up to Thursday night's Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour movie premiere in more subdued, chic coverings.
Perry went for a monochromatic look in an all-black Balenciaga tuxedo dress with knee-high, lace-up Giambattista Valli boots paired with a deep berry pout.
"It is sleek business woman slash dominatrix slash you don't know what's going on underneath this business attire," the songstress said to E! News' Ali Fedotowsky before she popped her collar.
The answer, if you're wondering, is a corset, which she had to be sewn into.
This latest style turn follows a number of more elevated, high-fashion looks for the pop star. Katy wore a sparkling Zuhair Murad stunner at the 2015 Grammys and another all-black ensemble during Paris Fashion Week.
But don't worry, Katy Kats. With a 129 more dates added to her tour in Asia and a new concert movie memorializing each and every outrageous outfit, gone are not the days of fluorescent body suits and candy-colored wigs.
The movie features "the most costumes you've ever seen," Perry added. "Some of them light up; some of them sparkle; some of them get ripped off…it's intense."
Stylist Johnny Wujek, the man behind Katy's elaborate costumes and an E! Style Collective member, joined his muse on the red carpet.
"She dresses for color and fun," Wujek said. "She is inspired by adventure and wears things that get people talking."
Because you really can't miss rotating peppermint breast plates.
