Sami Miró definitely noticed something different when she started dating Zac Efron—and not just the fact that he's hotter than most people. (As is she, for that matter.)

No, it was the fact that seemingly everyone cared about who she was seeing all of a sudden.

"I've never spoken about us before, but, um, it's definitely different," the 27-year-old model told Elle.com in a new interview. Miró, who had been sporting platinum-blond locks since she first started dating Efron last fall, is also back to her natural brunette hue, just in time to get dolled up in spring's chicest looks in a photo spread by Julian Ungano & Tommy Agriodimas.

Talking about the massive amount of attention that comes with being one half of a high-profile couple, Miró said, "I think that you have to take that with a grain of salt, and put yourself in other people's positions. I think that's actually a really big part of it, putting yourself in their shoes, and trying to understand where they're coming from, and then it kinds of makes sense."

So it sounds as though she feels for Efron and what the Neighbors star has had to put up with for years now.

"It kind of just comes with the territory," she added, "and I know there's no really changing that, so you have to just embrace it...I'm not trying to hide anything in my life. If I was dating someone who wasn't in the limelight, I might have more photos on [Instagram] of our relationship, but I do think it's important. I mean, it's what is going on in my life, and I think that my social media can still represent that."

The savvy stunner, who earned a master's degree in marketing from the University of San Francisco, also opened up about how being raised by a single dad influenced her personal style—and why that makes it more fun to go shopping with her boyfriend, too!

"Growing up I didn't really have the feminine touch," Miró mused. "I didn't like have my mom's cool jackets to wear or, you know, cool hand-me-downs. So I just had my dad's. I've always worn a lot of men's clothing.

"So I think with Zac—we shop together all the time, and I just naturally like to pick out clothes—our styles have mixed together," she said. "I definitely do borrow some cool shirts and jackets of his, too so it works out really well. We kind of coordinate in a way. I think when you...hang out...you start to appreciate what the other person has to offer and clothing, because we're both really into it, comes out in that way also."
