"Four years ago, I married this amazing man from Pittsburgh, PA. He makes me laugh every day. I'm a very lucky lady. Here's to many more happy celebrations, JT!" the actress wrote on Instagram Thursday.
Witherspoon, 39, ended the caption with a simple but sweet message: "#HappyAnniversaryHubby."
On March 26, 2011, four days after the actress celebrated her 35th birthday, Witherspoon married Toth in a private ceremony at her seven-acre ranch estate in Ojai, Calif. The Wild star looked lovely wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown, and the couple exchanged vows with her groom in front of Hollywood's royalty, including Sacha Baron Cohen, Robert Downey Jr., Isla Fisher, Kate Hudson, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Martin, Matthew McConaughey, Alyssa Milano, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sean Penn and Renée Zellweger.
Ava Phillippe, then 11, was the maid of honor, while Deacon Phillippe, then 7, was the ring bearer.
One year after the wedding, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together; son Tennessee was born on Sept. 27, 2012. "The entire family is thrilled," the actress' rep said at the time.
In the years that followed, Witherspoon constantly praised her CAA agent husband, 44.
"This really drunk guy was hitting on me, making such an idiot of himself, yelling at me," she told Elle magazine in its January 2012 issue. "Jim came over and said, 'Please excuse my friend. He's just broken up with someone.'" Witherspoon and Toth began dating in 2010, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Toth has helped Witherspoon in more ways than she can count.
"I have to say a very healing part of my life is my wonderful husband, Jim," the actress, who was married to Ryan Phillippe from 1999 to 2007, told Glamour in January 2015. "It's really wonderful being with somebody who supports me, who loves me, who is my No. 1 fan. That is such an incredible experience. You have to be ready for those things. I had to be in a place where I felt all those things about myself."
