When Mindy Kaling talks, you listen. Especially when she talks about being confident in yourself no matter what!

When The Mindy Project showrunner and star stopped by E! News with our own Kristin Dos Santos and Jason Kennedy it turned into one big compliment fest and we were loving every single moment of it! But since we had very important things to discuss, we got down to business.

Mindy dished on everything from playing pregnant on her beloved Fox sitcom (and the sympathy cravings she got as a result!) to what she learned about being pregnant to whether she's ever considered becoming a mom in real life.

But it's when she started talking about how the most important thing for a woman to have is confidence, that's when we wanted to scream, "Yaaaaas queen, preach!"

"Something that people say about me all the time and my character is how confident we are," Mindy says. "I would love to live in a time where that's the assumption of women and of actresses. Unfortunately, that isn't. It's because actresses on TV, we're such a small percentage of the way we look, or such a small percentage of the way women actually look like, whereas men can look like a lot of different things."

Can we get an amen?!

"I think it's important on the show for her to not have her weight be a constant issue for why she's confident," Kaling continues. "It's usually her work or being a good person. What's nice is, every once in a while, I'm very confident, I love the way I look, I think you can be stylish without being a stick, but it's good that I also have days when I'm like, 'God, I wish I could just lose those 15 lbs. I've been wanting to lose for whatever amount of time.' Because she was pregnant and couldn't fit into any of her clothing, I was like, 'You know, let's let her do this this time, so that people don't think that she doesn't suffer from the same insecurities that everyone else does.'"

Mindy, is it weird being your own role model?!
