With the beginning of spring comes major closet cleaning—all the better to make room for our new springtime duds! But where to start?

Luckily, stylist Shayoon Aboo gave us the scoop on three must-have prints for spring (get ready for it): Microflorals, bold stripes and pop art. Incorporating these printed pieces will revamp your look just in time for sunny no-sweater weather.

And of course we already want to mix all three together—and you can too: Whether you're pairing a bright microfloral skirt with an oversize stripe button-down (and throwing a pop art-inspired clutch into the mix, à la Miley Cyrus), there's no end to the mix-and-match possibilities when you're playing with print. Our advice? Go Bold, and take these celebs for inspiration:

Getting the microfloral look down is as easy as choosing a slinky mini, like Olivia Munn did at the Hollywood Reporter's Power Stylists luncheon in West Hollywood.

"Trade your large florals for a smaller bloom this spring! Minute and abstract microflorals are boldly feminine and edgy at the same time," Aboo told us. "Head to toe floral works as a matching set or jumpsuit—ideal for those who don't want to think about pairing a different top and bottom together. Another way to wear this trend is opting for a chic and beautiful microfloral dress.

And in the bold stripes department, no one is more fearless than Cate Blanchett—at least in the lavender-and-coral Roksanda number that she wore to Cinderella's Sydney premiere.

"Feel free to play with clashing colors and mix and match stripes," Aboo said (check and check for Cate!), although she recommended avoiding "horizontal stripe spanning the torso." Instead, the style maven suggests you wear a piece that "follows the shape of your body." (Sounds simple when you think about—stripes that follow your body shape means—hello!— automatically flattering.)

For bold stripes, Aboo recommends sporting a simple and solid-colored heel with stud earrings for "a polished look" that won't compete with your vertical or horizontal print.

And for those of you with a big "?" forming over your heads when trying to picture a pop art print—we've got you covered.

"Try wearing a bright-colored top with a fun statement skirt, or a bright bottom with a statement top," Aboo advised. "Find one piece that already has art incorporated into the design, like a dress with shapes or faces on it. Avoid mixing a wild top with an eccentric bottom." (The latter rule is, well, flexible, if you ask Miley.)

For a completely pop art look, Aboo thinks bright and bold is best: "This is one trend that you can really express yourself through—after all, it is art," she said.

Finally, we asked Aboo for the five must-have pieces we need for our wardrobes this spring. And her answer might just make for the perfect date (or girls!) night looks:

1. A Bold, Long-Sleeve Striped Shirt: "You can always pair this with shorts, a fun bright-colored skirt or your favorite skinnies," Aboo said.

2. A Microfloral Frock: "This is something you can throw on and dress up with heels or dress down with booties and a scarf."

3. A Statement Necklace: According to Aboo, one of these babies will "spruce up" any look.

4. A Well-Fit White Jacket: "Blazer style or moto style," Aboo said. "It's the perfect piece to pair with anything."

5. A Fringe Bag: Not just for Coachella! "Fringe is the ultimate statement accessory to make for a trendy, versatile look," Aboo said.
