Connie Britton is returning to the world of Ryan Murphy in America Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson and she's got quite the role. The Nashville star will play Faye Resnick, Nicole Brown Simpson's friend.

"Excited to announce my friend Connie Britton will play Faye Resnick in the upcoming FX miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson," Murphy tweeted.

Britton starred in the first season of American Horror Story and has not been shy about her desire to work with Murphy and his team again. The cast of The People V. O.J. Simpson also includes Sarah Paulson, Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta and David Schwimmer.

The new miniseries will tell the tale of the trial of O.J. Simpson (Gooding Jr.) and is based on Jeffrey Toobin's book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Resnick, an interior designer, was staying with Nicole Brown Simpson just days before the murders. She collaborated on two books about the murders and trial and eventually posed for Playboy. Resnick, a friend of reality star Kyle Richards, has appeared in multiple episodes of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. You may recall her appearance at RHOBH's "Dinner Party From Hell" where she took on psychic Allison DuBois. Catch a glimpse of that scene above.

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson doesn't have a premiere date.
