But we had no idea how close their respective wives—Cindy Crawford and Amal Clooney—were getting in such a short amount of time.
In a new interview with the Evening Standard's Deluxe magazine, Gerber reveals that his wife has really taken a liking to the human rights lawyer turned professor. In fact, they share a lot in common.
"They are very compatible," he told the publication via Hello! Canada. "Both strong, intelligent, committed women." Furthermore, both couples have developed such a special bond that they now have vacation homes on the exact same estate in Mexico.
"Originally, we were going to build just one big house for us," Gerber explained. "But George was single at the time and we have the family and Cindy said ‘Hmmm. I don't think that's such a good idea. Let's build two houses.'" Way to think things through, girl!
Fast-forward to today and the property now has two homes for two couples madly in love. "It's like breakfast at George's place, lunch at mine," Gerber added. "It feels like one big party."
Speaking of parties, wedding watchers may remember last September when the Clooneys said "I Do" in a $4.6 million Italian extravaganza. As you may recall, Gerber and Crawford were a few of the lucky ones who scored an invite.
Months later, the pair still can't believe how special the big day was.
"It was a big party for three days straight," Gerber said when looking back on the festivities. "We flew 100 cases of [Casamigos] tequila in and we drank it all."
And while the honeymoon phase may be over, the suspense over a possible pregnancy announcement continues. George would make a "great dad," Gerber explained. "I don't know if he's going to be or not."
