The 34-year-old sports dark, long locks in a new photo posted on Friday on her Instagram page, which was taken days ago and shows her with photographer Ellen von Unwerth. However, it appears that she is wearing a wig, as the length of her new tresses are longer than her most recent hairstyle.
The natural brunette Keeping Up With the Kardashians star had had her signature long hair cut to her shoulders in early February and had it dyed platinum blond in early March during Paris Fashion Week. Days later, she had her tresses lightened to a white blond shade, similar to Frozen's Queen Elsa.
Kardashian had sported blond hair in public as recently as Thursday, when she was photographed near a gym in Los Angeles.
Her throwback brunette look appears to be for a photo shoot. She posted alongside the Instagram pic, "On set a few days ago with the amazing @ellenvonunwerth Can't wait for you to see the projects we've been working on!"
Von Unwerth posted the same picture of the two on her own Instagram page on Wednesday. That day, Kardashian shared a selfie of herself getting her blond hair touched up, saying, "Being blonde is a full-time job!"
Also on Wednesday, the reality star was seen taking part in a photo shoot on the beach in Malibu, where she sported...blonde hair. She also wore a black bra (see more pics here).
Her hairstylist Jen Atkin had on Friday also posted the photo of Kardashian and Von Unwerth together on her own Instagram page, saying, "BTS from shooting w @ellenvonunwerth & @kimkardashian this week. Oh we've got some hair tricks up our sleeve!"
On Tuesday, she had Instagrammed a picture of a brunette Kardashian, saying, "Stoop Glamstorming (glam brainstorm session) w @makeupbymario & @reneluv today on set w @kimkardashian."
That day, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic posted on his Instagram a pic of a woman resembling the reality star, pictured from behind and sporting long brown hair.
"Brunette vibes today on set," he wrote. "Guess who?"
Kardashian last had her brunette hair dyed blond, a darker shade, in September 2013, three months after she gave birth to daughter North West. She went back to dark brown months later. In June 2014, she was seen with blond hair again. It turned out to be a wig.
