Hey girl, don't toss out those sweatpants: Ryan Gosling will still love you if you wear them!
Earlier this week, Eva Mendes got the Internet's collective panties in a wad when she joked to Extra that sweatpants are the "No. 1 cause of divorce in America!" Rest assured, though, loungewear lovers, the Gos himself wears sweats...and Eva still loves him!
"Obviously sweatpants thing was a joke," the actor and new dad clarified on Twitter Thursday. "Wearing them now. That's right, tweeting in sweatpants. Rats! Said too much! You win again Twitter."
Glad Esmeralda's papa cleared that up once and for all. Besides, even Eva herself probably owns a pair or two of the comfiest clothing item ever. Just look at her post-baby bod—you know she's spent some time at the gym!
Admittedly, working out isn't her favorite thing to do (which would make the switching into sweatpants later all that much more rewarding), but as she tells Women's Health's April issue, it's a necessary evil. "I realized a long time ago that I needed to have some kind of routine," she says of her fitness plan. "I don't love it, but I've made peace with that choice."
She lifts weights but "nothing too heavy, because my body bulks up pretty easily. I mix it up with yoga, or sometimes I'll hike with my trainer."
Yes, she works hard and eats well, yes, but Eva's the first to admit celebs have it easier than other moms when it comes to looking lean in post-baby pics. "You're helped in those situations," she says. "I want women at home to know, you're lit, you're angled, so yes, it was a few months after the baby, but with a lot of help."
When it comes to the really tiring stuff that comes with raising a baby, though, Eva's just like every other mom. "Now I understand so much, my mother's never gotten more 'I love you so much mommy' texts, I mean, randomly..." she told Extra. "Yeah, I get it now."
And if you want to wear sweatpants, she gets that, too.
