It's James!

As E! News exclusively reported in February, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds didn't name their daughter Violet or any other flower...they named her James! And the Woman in Gold actor confirmed the moniker on NBC's Today in an interview with Willie Geist. Of course, he didn't admit to it without making some hilarious jokes first.

"You did say a few months ago, before she was born, that you were going to name her Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds," Geist said. "So can we call her Anna at least—short for Anaconda?"

Reynolds confirmed to Geist that he and his Gossip Girl-starring wife didn't go with Excalibur, but instead went with a more...seasonal choice.

"That is not the child's name," Reynolds said, dead seriously. "It's Butternut Summersquash."

Of course, he couldn't keep up the jig for long. "It's James," the new dad finally admitted. "Everyone knows."

He dished that he didn't mind people finding out, but he just didn't want to be the one to spill the beans.

"I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media," Reynolds explained. "Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"

Now that's what we like to call really thinking ahead.

As for why they picked James, which might seem like a boy's name? Well, her mom is named Blake and Jaime King used to go by James, so masculine names are becoming trendy! Plus, Ryan is quickly becoming a popular girls' name. Names aside, Reynolds and Lively are absolutely loving being parents.

"The best thing about it—well, everything's great about it," Reynolds told E! News at Sundance. "The least impressive thing is the complete lack of sleep." He confirmed that his daughter did indeed have him wrapped around her little finger, adding, "That started well before she was born!"

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
