In case you forgot, here's your reminder that Kelly Clarkson can really, really sing.
Sure, we love her pop hits such as "Stronger" and "Since U Been Gone," but earlier this month, the 32-year-old singer stopped by SiriusXM Radio, where she performed a live cover of Tracy Chapman's 1996 hit "Give Me One Reason," proving she's not only a versatile singer, but she totally kills it when it comes to the blues.
Seriously, her rendition is chill-inducing, must-listen music.
After the video of her performance was uploaded to YouTube, media outlets immediately began commenting on Clarkson's phenomenal cover while urging the American Idol winner to make a blues album (count us among those who that would totally buy that record).
It seems that mother of one, who gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named River Rose, with husband Brandon Blackstock in June, has yet to get wind of the positive feedback, but, presumably, we can expect a sweet tweet from the social media savvy star sometime in the future!
Clarkson's seventh studio album, Piece by Piece, was released on Feb. 27. Its lead single, "Heartbeat Song," made it to the top 40 on the Billboard 100, and the musician is expected to embark on the record's supporting tour on June 11.
Additionally, it was announced last week that the "Because of You" beauty is returning to her American Idol roots for one episode, which will air April 1, and see the singer performing in addition to acting as a mentor for the contestants.
Is it too early to put in a request for a bluesy tune?
