Janelle Monáe and CoverGirl; Miley and MAC; Gwen Stefani and L'Oreal Paris—partnerships between musicians and cosmetic companies have become a mainstay of the beauty landscape.

But somehow, the electronic technicians who kick out dance tracks for massive followings are often overlooked in this category (even though DJ style, traditionally rooted in club kid culture, tends to be some of the most fashion forward in the music biz).

No more. Today, MAC Cosmetics announced a special capsule collection, created with New York-based DJ Mia Moretti—a longtime cultural fixture at the crossroads of DJ culture and the fashion scene. The nine-piece collection uses Coachella as a jump-off and is built around what every girl needs to turn out her festival finest.

Highlights of the collection—which launches March 26th online and and April 2nd in-stores—include a six-color lipstick palette, dubbed Where's The DJ; signature makeup and tote bags that echo the stylings of women like Babe Paley and the mid-century jet set; and Casual Color in PS I Love You, a retro pink, which can be used to brighten eyes, lips and cheeks.

"Multi-purpose products are great to have at festivals when you are at the will of the weather. You have sun, you have wind, you have sand, and you sometimes have storm and you have to still make your look work," Moretti said.

While its color story is rooted in the Palm Springs' old Hollywood era and is inspired by the poolside photography of Slim Aarons, the collection boasts hues like warm peaches, glam Rivera reds and cool aquas that look just as home on modern-day festival goers as they did on Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s and 1960s (when they famously made the desert oasis their playground).

Whether looking to conjure sun-kissed 1960s glam or nab a few solid products designed to withstand the ravages of festival life, Moretti and her collection are primed to be one of the best takeaways of the summer.
