Dancing With the Stars has officially kicked off its 20th season, which means we'll be seeing lots of man cleavage. Not too much; just the right amount.
It also means we get to watch celebs try their feet at dancing, with varying degrees of success. And the very first taste we get of their skill level is with the DWTS opening credits montage, which forces the stars to looks sexy, natural, alluring and entertaining all at once. Some of them pull it off. Others...well, we'll just let you see for yourself, because we ranked the celebs and their moves in the montage from least awkward to most awkward, also known as "the "drunk relative."
Show off. We're not surprised her credits segment seems longer than the others; Rumer looks amazing. And as Dwight Schrute taught us, you always put your prize beets front and center to reel in the customer. What does this rambling sentence mean? Rumer Willis is a prize beet.
11. Patti LaBelle
Queen LaBelle, swooping in to save the show. She has blessed these opening credits with her presence.
10. Noah Galloway
A hot dude flexing a bicep? That's never awkward, only necessary.
9. Nastia Liukin
Girl can definitely work the ol' Taylor Swift double hip pop. And then she cartwheels away like that's how she exits conversations all the time. We're going to start doing that, but with terrible somersaults.
He's not awkward, but he's also not not awkward. A "meh" on the Gary Busey Awkward scale, if you will.
Skateboarding?! What a rebel. Do you think the producers showed him the DWTS opening credits rule book and he threw it out the window?
6. Michael Sam
He's got an amazing smile, but that megawatt grin is so frozen on his face in this moment that it's borderline maniacal. And how many times do we have to remind everyone that props never look anything less than ridiculous in stuff like this?
5. Willow Shields
She's 14, so we feel forever unclean for docking her points because her sultry moves look about as natural as this drunk dude trying to skateboard home. But we're just calling it like we see it.
You had one job, Charlotte! Snap your fingers without looking like a fembot. The shattering screen in the upper left-hand corner? That's not a special effect. That's the world trying to crumble around her to ensure that no other human has to see her do that again. Well, at least she's gorgeous.
2. Suzanne Somers
This is the second-most awkward moment of the opening credits, but it's also our absolute favorite. Suzanne's segment makes her look like the drunk aunt who is about to make your wedding reception really uncomfortable because she has some "sexy" moves she wants to try out and she's already asked the DJ to play Beyoncé's "Naughty Girl.
1. Chris Soules
"Grip those roses annnnd...turn stiffly! Stand there with dead eyes. Lock your legs. Sort of smile. Nailed it, Chris. Nailed it." That's what we assume Chris was saying to himself when he filmed this. He's his biggest fan.
Good luck to all the stars this season! We are confident that the opening credits are not indicative of your dancing skills. And if they are…oof, it's going to be a loooong season.
