Ryan Gosling gets people in the mood for romance!

The actor attended a SXSW Film Festival panel over the weekend to discuss his directorial debut, Lost River, when a member of the audience stole the show.

A woman sitting in the front row decided not to ask about the film, but instead seized the opportunity and proposed to her girlfriend.

"I think your film was amazing," the woman told the panel. "And I'm going to kind of take away from it for a second, if I can, and ask my girlfriend of 11 years if she'll marry me."

Gosling and the film's cast, which included Saoirse Ronan and his girlfriend Eva Mendes, all made audible gasps upon hearing the proposal and applauded the romantic gesture.

"We got a marriage proposal going on!" Gosling told the crowd before handing the mic over to the woman so everyone could hear her.

Maybe Gosling and Mendes will get an invite to the wedding? One can only hope.

And in a separate discussion about Lost River, the hunky actor and new father revealed to director Guillermo del Toro that he really doesn't understand those "Hey Girl" memes, despite their ongoing popularity.

"I never said that!" he said firmly in front of a packed house. "I understand if you're in a movie and you say, 'I'll be back' you have to own it, but I never said it."

But Gosling's not too mad about it though, and jokingly uttered "Hey girl" later on in the discussion.

Lost River is set to be released in theaters on April 10.
