Do you believe in miracles?

Robert Carradine and his wife, Edie, were injured in a grisly car crash last week near Dolores, Co., a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol telling the Cortez Journal that the couple survived the accident because they were wearing seatbelts. A photo posted on the Journal's website shows the obliterated front of the Revenge of the Nerds star's 2003 Mercury Marauder, which was totaled.

Carradine was traveling northbound on Highway 145 when he drove into coming traffic and hit a 2014 Volvo semi-truck," State Patrol Public Information Officer Trooper Josh Lewis told E! News.

Per the CSP, the 60-year-old actor, who lives in Santa Barbara, Calif., was cited for careless driving, a misdemeanor traffic violation, for the lane breach turned terrifying-looking collision on March 5. The Carradines' injuries were said to be serious but not life-threatening.

Lewis said that neither speed nor alcohol or drugs factored into the crash and the two-lane highway was dry at the time of the accident.

The Journal reported that both lanes of traffic were closed for more than two hours following the crash, which occurred at 2:17 p.m. local time.

Richard Clayton, the driver of the truck, was also wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, Lewis said.

The Carradines have been married since 1990 and have two children together.

Robert, who played chief nerd and proud Tri-Lamb Lewis Skolnik in four Revenge of the Nerds films (two of them made for TV), most recently showed up in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
