Who's ready to meet Mellie's (Bellamy Young) sister on Scandal?

The ABC hit series just cast the First Lady's sister, and the actress who landed the major role has a pretty interesting family connection.

True Blood alum Lauren Bowles will play Mellie's sister Harmony in the April 2 episode, E! News has confirmed. And since Bowles is the real-life half sister of TV royalty Julia Louis-Dreyfus, that pretty much means Mellie and Julia are sisters too, right?!

Who cares if the connection is a little convoluted, we will now only think of these three fierce ladies as sisters because why not? Let us live.

Bowles is currently scheduled for only one episode of Scandal at this time, and she will be introduced because Lizzie Bear (Portia de Rossi) fears that Mellie's sister could be detrimental to their political aspirations now that President Grant (Tony Goldwyn) has chosen a new Vice President who won't run against Mellie in the next election.

"You know what Huck [Guillermo Diaz] did to that room of people selling drugs and Jake [Scott Foley] had to come and cut their heads off? That's what their relationship looks like," Young told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a bloodbath! It's going to do a great job of trying to derail what Mellie is doing [in terms of running for office]."

Aside from Bowles' debut, fans can look forward to the return of Dan Bucatinsky as James (RIP!) in an upcoming Cyrus-centric episode, as well as Kate Burton as former VP Sally Langston, as we exclusively reported.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
