Whenever there's a Willow and Jaden Smith interview, excitement ensues. Why? Because living. Also because at such a young age, these two celebuspawns have already given us so many words to live by in such an artistic, out-of-this-world, way-above-your-head, wait-what-do-they-really-mean way.
Even when discussing fairly simple topics, like Auto-Tune, the 14-year-old singer explains her reasoning for steering away from it in a way that's nothing less than poetic.
"I don't like having any effects on my voice," Willow explains to Billboard magazine. "I feel like putting a lot of Auto-Tune on it really covers up the essence of you and is like putting a cloud over real true emotion."
Putting a cloud over real true emotion. Most people would have just said it sounds like singing into a fan, which is accurate, but still.
Jaden, who also touched on dad Will Smith's awesomeness and his own fashion during the interview, is no different when expressing his ideas. While speaking of the message behind his music, the 16-year-old tells the mag, "Everything that I talk about in my music is pretty much just trying to evolve consciousness in the world and help everything become better and brighter."
He adds, "I've never written out my lyrics before, I just go in and freestyle and say what's on the top of my mind."
As for his favorite artists, Willow is at the top. "Kanye, Jay Z and Willow—those are all people I watch out for," says Jaden. "The music Willow listens to is really, really interesting. She's really amazing, probably my favorite artist and we collaborate any time that we can."
Aside from expanding their consciousness through music, the beauty of life and living, the duo's famous mom Jada Pinkett Smith revealed during an interview on Live! With Kelly & Michael that her kids are now joining her in the gym to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
