After months of Robin Thicke attempting to win back wife Paula Patton during the media tour for his latest album, Paula, the 39-year-old beauty is now sharing her side of the story in an interview with Good Morning America

Looking gorgeous in a white peplum dress from her Ellen Tracy line, the mother of one, who separated from Thicke in February 2014 before later filing for divorce, gave an update on her personal life and revealed how she's maintained a positive outlook in spite of the former couple's very public split.

"I'm doing really well," the brunette stunner told Robin Roberts with a smile. "I mean, the honest truth is it has been challenging, but it's been a year of growth, lots of healing, learning about all new things, but I've come out of it stronger."

Patton filed for divorce from the 37-year-old "Blurred Lines" singer in October 2014 after nearly 10 years of marriage and almost eight months after the two first announced their separation.

"We will always love each other and be best friends; however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the pair, who were high school sweethearts said in a joint statement upon announcing their split. The two have one child together, four-year-old son Julian, whom they currently share custody of.

"My son's happy," Patton continued on GMA. "And I'm very—you know, I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there."

Although it's easy to focus on the negative during tough times, Patton admits a positive attitude has been key to finding happiness.

"The truth is it's hard for me to say this because I don't always do this, but it's being grateful for what you have," she said. "It's so easy for us to focus on the negative things, but usually, the positive in your life outweighs that. And you have to just be thankful for what you have right now."

The Baggage Claim beauty continued, pointing to her son as another source of joy in her life.

"The thing is you can't wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child," she explained. "And they're so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy."

Currently, Patton is focusing on her own future and has teamed up with Ellen Tracy to serve as their brand ambassador for the clothing company's latest campaign. "It's purpose was not just to empower women but to celebrate women," she said of the line, adding that the gig is an "amazing blessing."

Meanwhile, Thicke is embroiled in a copyright trial against Marvin Gaye's children after he was accused of ripping his 2013 hit "Blurred Lines" from Gaye's 1977 song "Gotta Give It Up."‎
