Talk about an out of body experience!

The trailer for Self/less has been released, and in the action-packed clip Ben Kingsley plays a dying mogul who undergoes a radical medical procedure that places his consciousness in to a younger man (Ryan Reynolds).

Matthew Goode's character provokes Kingsley to make the change by saying, "We offer humanity's greatest minds more time to fulfill their potential...designed to offer you the very best of the human experience."

The transformation involves Kingsley relinquishing his old life in exchange for another healthy body. Cue, Reynolds.

Not too bad of an empty vessel to have some fun in if you ask us, but as always, there is a catch.

The scientific organization offering this medical breakthrough stops his heart only to later uncover that immortality has some side effects. It appears that some things really are too good to be true when Goode states, "There is no science, no progress, without sacrifice."

All is not as it seems, as displayed when Kingsley starts to discover the origins of his new body, as well as the life and memories it had left behind.

In an interview with Collider, Reynolds shared his experience working with the film's director Tarsem Singh, "It was great, a lot of fun. He is a great filmmaker, very visual; he creates interesting shots and scene-scapes."

Self/less also features Victor Garber and Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery.

The psychological thriller is scheduled for release July 31.
