As if unwashed men and women subsisting on one meal a day—and sleeping inches away from other unwashed people whom they don't trust one bit—need to be reminded that they should think twice before getting too comfortable.
Fang may have redeemed itself last week with consecutive challenge wins, but all bets were off Thursday on Survivor: Gabon as both tribes were subjected to unexpected makeovers, resulting in a couple of new pecking orders and one unruly game of floating lacrosse.
Find out who scored, who sank and whether the latest twist made any difference when it came time for Tribal Council…
• The new Fang ends up consisting of Matty, Ace, Crystal, Jacquie, Ken, Kelly and G.C.; while Kota comprises Marcus, Dan, Charlie, Randy, Corinne, Susie and Bob.
• Being the odd woman out pending the next elimination, Sugar is sent to cool her heels on Exile Island. Having already found the Immunity Idol, she, of course, chooses "comfort." Pineapples, coconuts, apples and oranges were never made to sound so yummy. Sugar will later join the tribe that's forced to boot a member.
• Time for the immunity challenge, and frailty thy name is Fang. After each castaway is ordered into a tiny raft to play a waterlogged lacrosse match, Randy scores three fast goals for Kota with barely a whiff of opposition from the other side. Jeff Probst not only points out how utterly "useless" Ken was, he calls the overall loss, "without question, one of the worst performances I've seen in a challenge."
• Quote of the night: "It's like we were legless chickens racing against sleek weasels," Ace says.
• So it seems as if Kelly's on the chopping block. Despite how hot she is (according to Ken), she was pretty useless too during the challenge, and the most tight-knight portion of Fang—Crystal, Ken and G.C.—don't really know her. Meanwhile, there's definitely no love lost between Ace and Kelly.
• Matty's psyched to dump Kelly, and we know Ace is. But then Crystal reminds Ken and G.C. that Sugar could very well have the Immunity Idol and would be most willing to share it with Ace or Jacquie. Hmmm...
• Matty immediately warns Jacquie about the alliance taking shape. She then pretty much begs Ken and Crystal to keep her on.
• In the end, despite the surety that Kelly was next in line to go had the tribes not been shuffled, it's former Kota star Jacquie who's voted 5-2 off the island.
• When Sugar returns from four days in exile, she'll be joining Fang and her beloved Ace.
So how's this season shaking out for you? How come no one listened to their so-called leader, who thought Kelly was the weakest link? Could Crystal have looked any more uncomfortable while Jacquie was trying to form an 11th-hour alliance? Is Ace just going to throw poor Sugar under the bus upon her return?
