Curt Schilling is officially in the running for father of the year!

The baseball star recently took some Internet trolls to task after they lashed out at his daughter Gabby Schilling on Twitter. Many of the tweets contained "rape, bloody underwear and pretty much every other vulgar and defiling word you could likely fathom," as Schilling put it.

"Never in my life have I uttered half of the words that these guys were posting," Schilling told ABC News of the shocking Twitter posts made by multiple men.

So how did the 48-year-old deal with the hateful trolls? Her publicly shamed them on his blog and revealed their identities. One of the haters was even reportedly fired from his job as a Yankees ticket taker and another was suspended from schooling!

"It wasn't a mistake. This was a conscious decision to be an idiot and to say some pretty evil stuff," Schilling said of the trolls.

Gabby added, "Nobody should be able to get away from saying things like that to a father about their daughter."

"I'll do everything I can do to not embarrass her, but I'll never not protect her," he added.

Way to go, Curt!
