You've never seen the royal family like this.

E!'s first scripted series, The Royals, gives you a look behind the curtain at Britain's royal family...that is, if One Tree Hill was transplanted into the palace and took over international headlines. The new hour-long drama from One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn centers around a fictional royal family (serious emphasis on the word "fictional") and all the drama and scandal that comes with the crown.

From the star-studded cast (Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena, Vincent Regan as King Simon, William Moseley as Prince Liam, Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor and Merritt Patterson as Ophelia, Liam's American lover), to the a-mah-zing fashion to the perfectly epic music, this show is about to become your new TV obsession...and we've got three exclusive sneak peek clips to show you why!

Watch: Princess Eleanor's Bad News Shakes the Monarchy

The new drama kicks off when the family's eldest son and future King of England tragically dies, rocking the family and stunning the nation as the young Prince Liam realizes he's now the future king.

Watch: Hear King Simon's Major Announcement

But the drama doesn't just stop there. When the family gathers to mourn Prince Robert at a private dinner, patriarch King Simon makes another announcement that will forever alter the royal family's legacy and life...regardless of whether anyone else agrees to it or not. And believe us, the majority of the family does not like it.

Watch: Princess Eleanor Hatches a Plan with Her Naive Bodyguard

And while all this family drama is going down, you can't blame a girl for wanting a little escape, right? Meet Princess Eleanor, wild child, hard partier, and president of the DGAF association.

While her new bodyguard may seem like he's in over his head with his new charge, looks can be deceiving, and he might not be as overwhelmed by Eleanor as he first appears...
