Well, that was fast!
Will Forte is no longer The Last Man on Earth. OK, well, maybe we should clarify and say he's no longer the last human on Earth because he finally came across another being in the latter half of his new series' premiere on Sunday night, but it was a woman. One of the most mysterious new shows of the season, The Last Man on Earth introduced Kristen Schaal's character, Carol, and we've got your exclusive first look at the Fox series' updated key art! Think of it like a family portrait for survivors of the apocalypse.
Unfortunately, Phil (Forte) and Carol did not exactly hit it off. Don't believe us? "She's the Michael Jordan of Boner Killers" is a line that got cut that I really miss," Schaal tweeted on Sunday night. Still, fans couldn't get enough of their uncomfortable banter as The Last Man on Earth debuted to solid ratings, bringing in a 2.3 demo rating, making it No. 1 on broadcast for the night.
And while we're not sure how they will appear yet (either present-day, flashback or mirage?), other actors set to join Forte and Schaal include Mad Men's January Jones, Mary Steenburgen, Mel Rodriguez and Cleopatra Coleman.
"There are twists and turns," Forte recently told E! News. "Other people show up, and we do have flashbacks and dreams, so we do have some exciting people involved. Kristen Schaal, who's one of the funniest people around, January Jones, Mary Steenburgen just signed on. I don't want to give away what roles they play, but it's an amazing group of people."
