While attending Essence magazine's annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards earlier this month, we learned an interesting tidbit about Lupita Nyong'o.
Namely, she's obsessed with Orange Is the New Black.
In fact, while presenting the OITNB cast with the Vanguard Award, she gushed about each character by name, leading us all to hope that the 12 Years a Slave star will make a guest appearance.
So when Taryn Manning stopped by E! News on Wednesday, we had to ask the 36-year-old actress, who plays Tifffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett on the hit Netflix show, whether she'd want Nyong'o to guest star, and if so, what role she should play?
"Of course!" Manning gushed when asked if she would like to have Lupita on the SAG Award-winning series, which returns in June for season three. "That's the great thing about this show, I feel that any guest star can work because it's jail."
She added: "And everyday people go in and they go out—that's what makes this show exciting is that you never know who's coming into jail!"
Lupita in prison?! Now, that would be a sight to see, and if it were up to Manning, the Oscar winner would enter the big house in one of her awards-show gowns.
"I would love to see her…if she wore one of her epic gowns as well," she said, praising the 31-year-old beauty. "I think she's one of the best dressed."
Meanwhile, Nyong'o is making headlines of her own this morning after it was revealed that her 2015 Oscar gown—the custom Calvin Klein Collection confection adorned with over 6,000 pearls—was stolen from her room at The London Hotel in West Hollywood.
Nyong'o had just worn the dress, valued at $150,000, to Sunday's Academy Award ceremony, and we're told the LAPD is currently investigating the theft.
Perhaps the scandal will serve as inspiration for a subsequent storyline?!
