Lake Bell certainly did not look like she just had a baby when the new mom stepped out last week, but it was only four months ago that 35-year-old actress gave birth to her first child.

Wearing a fitted Max Mara dress that showed off her insane post-baby bod, the mother of one, who welcomed her daughter with artist husband Scott Campbell in October, attended the 8th Annual Women In Film pre-Oscar party on Friday, where she couldn't help but gush over her wee one in addition to revealing her slim-down secrets.

"I think, you know, naturally when you have the baby…you are constantly jumping around and learning how to be a mom so, actually, it's the greatest exercise of all," the 35-year-old actress told E! News when asked how she got her figure back in shape. "And also just breastfeeding and doing all the little things and very important jobs and responsibilities that come with those first few months."

She added: "I'm taking baby steps. Pun fully intended."

Too cute!

Bell has been keeping a relatively low profile following the birth of her baby girl (she has yet to reveal her daughter's name) and has been enjoying time at home with her newborn, witnessing each and every milestone moment.

"It's a whole thing, lemme tell you," she dished of motherhood with a giant grin. "I'm so relaxed right now because I don't have time to be excitable. It puts everything in perspective in a really beautiful way."

Meanwhile, Bell has returned to work and is currently in pre-production on The Emperor's Children, a comedy with Jeff Bridges

"It's good!" she said when asked how it's been balancing work and motherhood. "Like anyone, it takes a second to figure out the balance, but…I'm excited for my daughter to know me as a working mama."

So, does she have plans to bring her daughter to set?

"As she gets older I think it will be a little bit easier," she revealed, "Film sets tend to be Petri dishes for germs so I'm constantly looking at people to see if they have redness around their nostrils."

Bell, who is on the board of Women in Film, also shared what kind of Hollywood she hopes her daughter will grow up in.

"I just want my daughter to grow up in an environment where she feels empowered and confident and self-soothing," she said.

Asked if she considers herself a feminist, Bell replied, "I am a feminist. I mean, as ladies, we're feminists. It's not a bad word, it's a good word."

Doesn't she look amazing?!
