This just may be the saddest Vine that's ever existed…

New video just surfaced showing Michael Keaton putting his Oscars acceptance speech back into his tuxedo jacket shortly after Eddie Redmayne's name was announced as the winner of the Best Actor category.

The 63-year-old is seen sitting in the front row quickly shoving a piece of folded up paper into his coat while the audience around him cheers in delight for The Theory of Everything star.

Keaton may not have won in his category Sunday night, but his film, Birdman, did tie with The Grand Budapest Hotel for the most wins at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

So it wasn't all a wash!

Birdman director Alejandro González Iñárritu took the Oscar home for Best Director (shortly before the flick won Best Picture) and joked about his lucky charm for the evening.

"Tonight, I am wearing the real Michael Keaton tighty-whities," he exclaimed during his acceptance speech. "They are tight, smell like balls, but it worked. I'm here. Thank you, Michael."

He continued on a more serious note, "Talking about that little prick, ego. Ego loves competition. For someone to win, someone has to lose…But the paradox is that true art, true individual expression as all the work of these incredible fellow filmmakers can't be compared, can't be labeled, can't be defeated because they exist, and our work can only be judged always by time."
