If Jon Voight had his way, Angelina Jolie would have definitely been at the 2015 Oscars.

In fact, she totally would have been nominated for her work in the highly regarded film Unbroken.

"I think the nominations were mostly right. They don't get everybody," Voight revealed to E! News at Vanity Fair's Oscars party. "I'd like to have seen my daughter's film get a few more nominations."

He added, "But we were very well represented. I think Hollywood did very well with the films this year especially towards the last couple of months."

While Unbroken was nominated for an impressive three awards including Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing, Voight wasn't shy about expressing his disappointment about his daughter's snub in the Best Director category.

"I wish she had [been nominated], because I think she deserved it," he revealed at Clive Davis' pre-Grammys gala in Beverly Hills. "She's a great actor's director—the pace of the film, the size of the film. Unbelievably difficult stuff that she accomplished."

If it's any consolation for Jolie, Voight is more than hopeful that he can work with his family member on the big screen in the near future.

"I think her direction is extraordinary. I had my mouth open," Voight recalled to E! News. "I said, ‘Holy smokes. This is really something.' She's a director that I'd say I want to work with her."
