Trend alert! The 2015 Oscars were all about the embellishments.

Seriously guys, if your gown wasn't covered in glitter, sequins, 3-D appliqués or 6,000 pearls, you probably felt really left out. Iridescent white and silver dresses were easily the most noticeable manifestation of the trend, worn on Best Actress nominees Julianne Moore and Marion Cotillard, as well as Faith Hill, Carmen Ejogo, Anna Faris, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Lupita Nyong'o, among others.

While this year may have given us somewhat of a safe red carpet, there were still a few standout trends to take sartorial inspiration from. Blush tones looked less girlish and more sexy than ever before: Just take one look at Zoe Saldana in a nude, body-hugging Versace dress. (Yes, this woman had twins three months ago.)

Other major trends included bright green earrings (which were also big at the 2015 Grammys), statement necklaces (like the vintage Van Cleef & Arpels stunner on Margot Robbie) and beauty looks featuring a dark sultry lip.
