Considering how many times his Hunger Games has been to (and fell at) the big show, has he asked her for any advice?
"I don't want to ask her any advice about the Oscars. I'm staying away from that train wreck for sure," he joked with me last night at unite4:good's unite4:humanity gala at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
It's not like Hutcherson has to practice walking on the stage. "I don't have heels," he laughed. "I'm not busting out the heels for this one."
Hutcherson said he is bringing his best friend with him to the Oscars. "I'm really excited," he said.
The actor was honored last night for his work with gay rights group Straight But Not Narrow. "The fight for equality has been something that has been very important for me my entire life," he said. "I believe that everyone deserves a chance at finding love and I think a lot of us know how hard that can be without even having the added pressure of not knowing if you're going to be accepted by your community or if you're going to be exiled for being whoever you are."
After the unite4:good event, Hutcherson was spotted at Amy Sacco's Bungalow 8 pre-Oscar party on the rooftop of The Hollywood Roosevelt hotel.
Celebrity deejay Diplo provided the music while the bar was stocked wit Casamigos Tequila and Dom Perignon champagne.
The guest list also included Courtney Love, Lily Collins, Michelle Rodriguez, Seth McFarlane, Dianna Agron, Eric Stonestreet and Suki Waterhouse.
