Colin Kaepernick does not take criticism lightly.

The 27-year-old San Francisco 49ers quarterback went into full defensive mode when one Twitter user questioned his workout. It began Wednesday when Kaepernick wrote: "1000 abs.... arm workout..... 10 min straight on the jump rope.... 2 hour study session in February..... that's what we call a recovery day!"

One social media user responded glibly to the NFL star, tweeting at Kaepernick and at the 49ers' handle, "ab workout won't help find open receiver #study"

Kaepernick, who has over 726.000 followers, not only saw this tweet, but he was apparently quite riled up by it, too. He replied to the aforementioned tweeter, writing, "are you illiterate or just ignorant? Read the tweet again better yet give me your breakdown of every defensive coverage"

He continued to rant at the individual: "I want every players responsibility on every coverage if you can't do it mind your damn business clown!"

"you got 8 followers bruh," added Kaepernick. "your own family don't even want to know what you doin! Get better at life!"

Oh, boy. Well, less than 24 hours later, Kaepernick's tweets helped get this particular user's follower count up past 2,300. The outspoken athlete retweeted other users' praising him for "destroying workouts in the gym and making mincemeat of haters on Twitter."

Fox Sports broadcaster and Dancing With the Stars co-host Erin Andrews responded to Kaepernick as well, writing simply, "good for u." He retweeted her message of support.

As of Thursday morning, the tweeter that prompted this response from Kaepernick had yet to reply publicly or feed into the social media storm.
