Gotham's latest episode was the best yet, all thanks to a certain maniacal, laughing villain...

After the introduction of the origin story of the Joker (played with an impressive flair and chilling seriousness by Shameless star Cameron Monaghan), Gotham is getting even bigger and better than ever before as it gears up towards the season one finale.

With only five episodes before that sure-to-be crazy finale, the Fox comic book series has put together a new, movie-trailer style promo that will air during tonight's Empire, but we are exclusively debuting below right now!

The 90-second promo is filled with both a recap of what's happened so far on Gotham as well as some jam-packed action scenes yet to come that are giving us a major case of the goosebumps. The music! The foreboding lines of dialogue! The slo-mo scenes! So. Much. Yes.

But what we can't get enough of are all the iconic villains we have met and are going to meet as their younger, rougher selves than the characters we've come to fear in the comics! Each one is more insane and unhinged than the last, and it's just amazing.

One thing is making us really nervous, though...are we crazy paranoid, or does that person laying in a coma in a hospital bed at the very end of the promo look a lot like Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) butler/father figure/guardian Alfred (Sean Pertwee)?! Seeing as how Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is hugging and comforting a crying Bruce, that would be the most logical choice...but we're already dreading being proven right.

Press play on the video above to watch the epic new trailer now!

Gotham airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
