Update:  Class on Tuesday started at 3:45 p.m. and lasted an hour. "Britney was really nice and a good teacher. It was fun," one of her young students told E! News. "We practiced walking, and then we did a round-off. We had a routine and shook our hips, and then we went down and pointed to the crowd. After class we all gave her a hug, and she gave us autographs. She wrote her name. Britney said we did really well."

Other than recruiting an ill-dressed army of Britney clones, why did the pop tart lead a dance class of young girls on Monday? And why, oh why, is she headed back there this afternoon?

The explanation is less sinister than anyone might imagine.

Britney is doing the dance rehearsals "mostly for exercise" and "to get out of the house," an insider tells E! News.

Not so hard to imagine, given that she's rooming with dad turned conservator Jamie Spears.

In fact, "Britney just called and said she wants to teach from four to five o'clock today, so we are rounding up the kids right now," Robert Baker, Millennium Dance Complex director, told E! News earlier.

Fans might be happy to know there's also the possibility of a new video. According to Baker, Brit's been rehearsing moves to her single "Hot As Ice" for a possible shoot.

So, maybe there is some truth to the mini-me theory and Brit's just looking for pint-size backup dancers?
