Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman star as conniving sisters in an upcoming historical movie probably no one will see, but it does give us (and W) a good opportunity for a little compare and contrast exercise.

After all, each actress attracts very different people. It's entirely possible for us to judge a complete stranger by simply asking whom they'd rather sleep/hang out with between the two twenty-something actresses. (Or maybe we just choose silly reasons to judge people...)

Let's get started. There's some fairly obvious spot-the-difference distinctions on the cover alone, but upon reading the accompanying article, enough compare/contrast points come up to fill an entire five-paragraph high school essay. No worries, though, we'll keep it short:

Their Images
Natalie:  "I get branded a lot as a good girl."
Scarlett:  Is often mistaken as "a harlot!"

Their Causes
N:  The actress spends portions of the year advocating the Foundation for International Community Assistance, an organization that funds microloans to people.
S:  As an ambassador for Oxfam, she has visited India, Sri Lanka and the troops in Iraq.

The Presidential Candidates
N:  "Hillary's just so experienced."
S:  "I will continue stumping for Obama until he's elected."

Their Views on Monogamy
N:  "I'm into monogamy. But I'm not really into marriage right now. I sort of hate the legal aspect of it."
S:  "I've been battered for saying that I don't believe humans are monogamous by nature...I didn't mean that I don't practice monogamy in my own life—of course I do! I'm not going to be in some tarty relationship."

Their Opinion of Natalie
N:  "The only thing that's a little bit annoying is I feel that I come off kind of boring sometimes."
S:  "I don't think you're boring."

Now, you should be adequately prepared to expertly answer the character-revealing question "Who do you prefer?" next time it's posed. And trust us, it will be.
